Originally based in Yonkers, NY, now based in Orlando, FL; Little Radical Theatrics, Inc. (LRT) a non-profit 501(c)3 community theater was originally founded in 2009.
Since 2009, LRT has produced 28 full-scale musicals, running the gamut from off-Broadway cult classics like "Reefer Madness" to classical musicals such as "Carousel". We have produced six Regional Premieres: Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson, Reefer Madness, Smile , Andrew Lippa's The Wild Party , Matilda, and The Addams Family
Our 2016 season was nominated for thirty-one Broadwayworld Westchester/Rockland Awards winning "Best Leading Actor in a Musical" for RENT, and Our 2017 season was nominated for thirty Broadwayworld Westchester/Rockland Awards winning "Best Lighting Design" for "The Secret Garden. Our tenth anniversary musical "Brigadoon" swept the Broadwayworld Regional Awards in 2019. LRT is also a seven-time recipient of an ArtsAlive Award Grant from ArtsWestchester, Westchester County's Arts Council.
In the summer of 2020, Little Radical Theatrics moved from Yonkers, New York to Orlando, Florida. Our first planned season in Orlando will begin in January of 2021 with "Into the Woods"
followed by "Disney's The Hunchabck of Notre Dame" in April of 2021
and "Oklahoma!" in July of 2021
Though we have moved from New York to Florida, our mission continues: producing high quality musicals that appeal to audiences and actors of all ages and to continue to bring joy and love for the performing arts to all who come see our productions!
With safety at the forefront of our thoughts, we developed a safety protocol with an infectious disease specialist at New York Presbyterian and are following the amazing protocols already put in place by the other arts companies that have already opened and of course our major theme parks.
As a non profit 501C3 community theatre we depend on the support of our friends and supporters and now more than ever we need your help! Our only source of income is through ticket sales and to keep everyone safe, we have a limited number of tickets we can sell , and unfortunately we can’t raise money in other traditional fundraising methods such as selling concessions.
However the costs to mount a full scale production remain the same with the need for rental space, sets , costumes, lights, sound, performance rights and the added expenses of PPE, hand sanitizer stations, temperature machines and directional signage. We are also trying to purchase a HEPA air purifyer system that uses UV light to disnfect the air.
Your contribution would immensely help us . Your donation is tax deductible and goes directly towards the season and the productions. We are so thankful for every donation, whether great or small. Any amount that can be given truly does make a huge difference. Help us to continue to let this little community theater that could grow in our new home!
