The London Palestine Film Festival (LPFF) 2020 will be taking place November 13 to 26. Your support in hosting this year's festival both needed and appreciated.
What is this all about?
Since 1998, the LPFF has provided a stimulating platform that brings together filmmakers, scholars and the public, encouraging crucial dialogue on Palestine's film, culture, politics and more.
We are proud of the activities that our volunteer-based team has managed in the last 12 months.
LPFF 2019 screened 34 films, hosting over 2,400 attendees, 11 international speakers and sold over 90% of our tickets. Our digital campaign reached over 150,000 internet users, with over 10,000 event responses and obtained 11,500 dedicated social media followers across Facebook, Twitters and Instagram.
In addition, at the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic, from April to August 2020 we hosted a 16-week film-streaming fundraiser. Our campaign, in support of MAP and PACES's Covid-19 response in the West Bank and Gaza and the refugee camps of Lebanon and Jordan, lead to films views from 50 countries. For that success, we would like to thank our supporters!
This November 13th we are incredibly excited to bring the festival back, hosting our screenings in association with London's most influential film institutions, Barbican Cinema.
With most of our funds obtained through private donors, our last stretch of fundraising is open to the community. The funds raised through you, our community of lovers of all things Palestine, cinema and art, ensure that we can host essential parts of the festival, including:
- screening fees, ensuring filmmakers get fair wages for their work
- ensuring our core selection of freely accessible films for students, the unwaged, pensioners and others unable to pay ticket prices
- web - and other online presence - hosting, design and development
- PR and marketing strategies to enhance audiences and increase audience reach
- a London Living Wage for the one paid employee on our team
