Aida camp to GSU

Over the years that I have gone toPalestine I have watched Mustapha support youth and elders in the Aida refugee camp where he lives, lost internationals, and anyone whose day needed to be brightened. Never asking anything for himself, he has shown tourists the pain and warmth associated with being Palestinian. Without much formal education his accomplishments are overwhelming. He was selected to participate in the highly competitive Campus in Camps educational program that is based on principles of emancipatory education and associated with Al Quds University and Bard College.  He participates in trainings, workshops, and courses on topics such as strategic planning, nonviolence, social development, leadership and personnel management. His heart is in Aida where he helps residents in times of crisis, manages the programs of the Aida community center, and oversees the youth center and its annual summer camp. This year with your help I want to help him reach his goal to study English in the United States. He and I have both pledged about $5,000 to get him to Atlanta, and enrolled in Georgia State Universities’ Intensive English Program. But we need about $2,500 more. He and I would be most grateful for any support you might provide. We are also taking bets as to how many countries will be represented in our effort.
