We are a student run organization of many skilled and dedicated engineers and business professionals at Loyola Marymount University with the goal of researching rocket technology. We plan to build, test, and compete a hybrid rocket at the Spaceport America Cup in the summer of 2019.
The organization was only founded in 2017, but we hope to become a integral part of the LMU engineering program and promote rocket propulsion research for future generations of LMU students. We are incredibly excited and dedicated to bringing this project to life!
What is a hybrid rocket?
Rocket propulsion via combustion is typically propelled by either solid or liquid fuels. Hybrid motors stores oxidizer as a gas or liquid that is allowed to flow through a tube of solid fuel where combustion occurs. Our rocket will use Paraffin Wax as the solid fuel and Gaseous Oxygen (GOX) as the oxidizer.

Building a fully functioning rocket and running this program is expensive. We are a new program on campus and need as much funding as we can get! We would love for you to donate and support our goal to successfully launch this rocket!
