<div>We are asking for your help to send a multiracial grassroots delegation of mothers, grandmas and other unpaid and low-paid caregivers to Washington, DC. They will take part in training and to make our voices heard about how we need and have earned the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC), not have forced work requirements for benefits or have our children removed not because of abuse but because their families are poor.

<div>This is a chance for those who are directly impacted from across the US to gain experience and skills that can help with outreach and advocacy for the CTC and EITC, meet and network with those impacted by poverty from other places, and report back afterward to our communities to share those skills.

<div>Approximately 20 low-income women will gather in DC for three days of meetings and trainings on tax policies, how they impact us, and how we can participate effectively. We will attend a Congressional briefing on the Worker Relief and Credit Reform Act (WRCR) sponsored by Rep. Gwen Moore which redefines work to include caregiving and studying, entitling caregivers and low-income students to the EITC. We will be meeting with DC-based and national groups such as the Center for the Study of Social Policy, the Children’s Defense Fund, Mothers Outreach Network, and more.
