Lower Keys Relief Fund

As you all know this past Sunday the 10th, around 8am my old home of 11 years was devasated by a Category 4 Hurricane named Irma.  She destroyed everything in her path and has left many of my friends, who I consider family, jobless, possessionless and homeless.  I lived on Cudjoe Key, one of the keys that sustained the most damage, and as we go about our days right now they continue to go without  power, sewer, drinking water or food.  Neither FEMA, the Navy, Army, Coast Guard or Red Cross has been able to reach them with supplies. Everything that reaches the keys gets swept up long before it ever gets close to them.  They have just recently started receiving cell service to let their loved ones know that they are in fact alive and well.

I am starting this Go Fund Me account in hopes to raise money to buy supplies in bulk to bring down to them, as well as help them financially in any way that I can. If you have anything you can spare, I know that my Keys Family will be forever greatful. They are a proud resilient group of Conchs and will rebuilt our beautiful piece of heaven down there, they could just use all the help they can get right now! I will also be taking donations in the way of clothes, household items, food, whatever can fit in my car, so if you are in the Chicagoland area or on my way down there and have something to donate, please let me know ASAP so I can retrieve it from you.

I realize that the Florida Keys are not the only ones affected by the horrific storms the past couple of weeks, and my heart goes out to all of you!
