Help us celebrate Scott ! ! !
As we all know, our friend Scott McCully, has a huge heart - and it nearly stopped beating on Tuesday, August 22nd of this year. I knew he had been feeling lousy for the past few days, so I fired off a text: 'Dude it's getting late! What the heck did the doc say today!' His text back at 9:59pm read: 'Good thing I went to the doctor. I was in the middle of a heart attack this week and didn't know it. Aorta valve (widow maker) fully blocked. Caught just in time. Doctor said it should have been much worse or fatal.'
Yeah, that's what I said to myself at the time! Keeping it short, the happy ending is that they installed a stent in the closed aorta, and it appears Our Boy just may be around for awhile (Albeit hugely irritated when he finds out we're doing this without his approval!) And what exactly ARE we doing?! Raising love funds to assist in defraying all those hugely expensive procedures that sneak around the lovely insurance system. (Spending a little time in the ICU of Hoag's cardiac wing, with an ocean view will do that.) So to one of the most giving human beings I know, we want to say: We see you Scott, we're celebrating your heart, and we're putting our money where our mouth is!
As of this writing, Scott is on disability, and taking time off from the Costa Mesa restaurant he is the proprietor of. The Restaurant that he's volunteered to feed Newport Harbor Football teams on game day, Newport Harbor Baseball teams, countless church events, Newport Mesa Young Life gigs, and a ton of other fundraisers. Enough on the talk, it's time for the walk. Join us in saying thank you Scott, we see you, we love you - Here's some dough!

Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
