Loving Support for Souleye

Donation protected
The story you’re about to read tells of a selfless, loving and giving family… and one who truthfully needs your support, love and prayers.

You would have to look far and wide to find a family that is more giving and loving than my niece and her husband, Megan and Kalifa Dieme.  Right now they’re opening up not only their hearts, but their home to a ten year old, Souleye, who needs a family.  This little boy’s father sent him over from Africa to be with his uncle when he realized he didn’t have the ability to care for him since he was a migrant farm worker and Souleye’s mother was suffering from heart failure.  After being with his uncle for only a few months, the uncle was diagnosed with Stage 3 esophageal cancer (after living through several occurrences of leukemia).  Around that time, they were also advised that Souleye’s mother had died and his father had voiced his inability to care for his son.  He also advised that he was unable to provide for him if he returns.

The uncle reached out to Megan and Kalifa and asked if they could take this little boy into their home on a permanent basis when he faced the reality that he and his wife couldn’t physically or financially take care of him any longer. (Megan and Kalifa already have two small sons of their own.) Their loving and giving  hearts were opened immediately to Souleye… and they began the process of making this move a reality.

Megan and Kalifa now have Souleye with them and have been pursuing all the appropriate legal channels to provide guardianship and a permanent and secure home for Souleye.  The expenses involved in the legal side of this transition relating to guardianship and immigration are enormous and continue to rise, not to mention the expenses they’re facing to prepare their home and lives to meet the physical needs of another boy, plus the financial stress of providing things as normal as food, education and clothing.

Many of you reading this know Megan and Kalifa.  You know their lives are already a living witness to love, generosity and acceptance.  They have taken on this journey without concern for themselves… only with an outpouring of love for a child in need.  My prayer is that you might please see it in your hearts to share any amount possible to enable them to provide security and a home for a boy who needs a family. (Please know that no donation is too small…)  Thank you so much for your generosity and your prayers for this wonderful family.
