6/2/18 UPDATE:

Hi Everyone,

Lovey has somehow suffered a pretty bad pelvic fracture. The vet suspects that along with the large fracture visible that she also has 2 more hairline fractures in her pelvis. In addition, her left kneecap is also fractured.

We have no idea how this happened, but what matters now is that she heals and gets the care she needs.

This involves "crate rest" for 4-6 weeks, in addition to mild sedatives and pain killers to keep her comfortable. She is staying with Charlotte while she heals, so she will no longer be present at the store.  (But Charlotte will talk to you about her all day if you let her!)

The shop has finally (though reluctantly) decided that Lovey needs an appropriate Forever Home. Suitable candidates will live in the area, (no rental properties please, she needs a stable situation) have no other pets, no small children and be willing to take on an older, fragile cat that is FIV+ and requires daily prescription medication to manage her Irritable Bowel Disease.

Please contact Lisa at [email redacted], RE: LOVEY if you or someone you know can meet this sweet, magical fluffmuffin's needs. She is very precious to both the shop and our community.

In the meantime, we could really use some financial help covering the medicine she is going to need for the next 4-6 weeks. This includes mild sedatives, pain killers, her usual IBD medication and Lysine, as well as follow-up appointments at the Animal Hospital of North Asheville to monitor her healing process.

Thank you all so much for your continued love and support of her fund. We couldn't manage this without you! You can donate in person at the shop as well.

Love,
Lovey, Lisa A., Lisa W., Michael, Beth & Charlotte

----------------------------------------------------------------------

If you've ever stopped in to Asheville Raven & Crone, you've probably met our adorable, fluffy store manager Lovey!

Lovey has been diagnosed with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus. ( F.I.V)  As a result, she gets sick much more easily, and is much more delicate than healthy cats. She has some recurring health problems that we are trying our best to manage, such as Upper Respiratory Infections and Inflammatory Bowel Disease. She was previously misdiagnosed as having Feline Leukemia, since both illnesses share similar symptoms.

Lovey needs vet visits much more frequently than healthy cats. She also needs special medication to help treat her various problems.  She is a long-haired cat as well, and requires professional grooming every 6 months or so to keep her clean and fluffy.

Your donations go straight to helping Lovey. It helps us pay for her frequent vet visits and medications, her groomer, her favorite cat food, litter, treats, and anything else she needs to stay as happy and healthy as possible.

The continued support of our community and folks who adore Lovey has allowed us to afford the all care that she needs!

You can donate to Lovey's Health Fund here, or in person at the shop register.

Thank you all so much!

-Lovey, Lisa, Michael, Charlotte & Beth
