The last three months have brought about much uncertainty in the world that we are now living in. One thing though that this deadly virus has brought, is people coming together to help those in need.
As many of you know, our dear friend and Billy’s lifelong friend from Great Neck, Steven Tesoriero passed away on May 7th. His wife, Lori was fortunate enough to be by his bedside, a blessing and comfort for sure during this time. Six years ago Steve “Tes” was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s at the young age of 54. He contracted COVID-19 at the nursing home he was residing in on Long Island. After that diagnosis, Lori was able to move Tes to a hospice home, realizing that his battle with Alzheimer’s might soon come to a painful end.
During the last six years, Lori has been by her husband’s side every step of the way. She and Steve have also been blessed with kindness, selflessness, generosity and compassion during this time from friends, family and even strangers that have become friends. She fought the fight with her husband to the very end.
Lori is in the process of setting up Steve’s final arrangements and could use some help. It’s a big ask at a time when so many people have been directly or indirectly affected by this pandemic. We all know that every little bit helps and will make a difference.
Funds raised will help lessen the burden on Lori that has built up over the years from hospital visits to nursing home expenses, and now for his final resting place. Any remaining proceeds from this fundraising effort will be donated to a charitable organization or a scholarship fund that will be established in the future.
Lori also plans to have a celebration of life next year on May 7, 2021. Hopefully, the world will be a better place by then!
