Love (not Witchcraft): Bibles for Malawi

We have returned frrom Malawi Africa and distributed the first set of Bibles. Thank you to all who contributed. I am already organizing a repeat trip next year. If you would like to go, let me know. There is such a need out there. There were SOOO many people who wanted Bibles. It was strange and disheartening for me to have to tell people who asked for a Bible that they could not have one (we just didn't have enough). I am going to leave this page active so we can raise the money for next year's trip. My dream is to have enough Bibles that we can hand one to everyone who wants one.
All proceeds will go to buy Bibles to be distributed in Malawi, one of the poorest countries in Africa. We work with Hope House Orphanage, which provides meals, education (tuition for secondary schools because they are not free), soap, clothes, and blankets for orphaned Malawi children. There are a great many orphans partially because of the AIDS epidemic, which often results in the loss of parents, and also because life is just hard in Malawi and medical care is either unaffordable or inaccessible.
The competing religion in the area is witchcraft, which results in horrific things being done to children, including violence against parents and harm to the children. We combat this by sharing messages of Christ's love whenever possible through open-air style preaching, events and door-to-door evangelism to the surrounding villages.
Last year, Kim also provided medical care, and Kyla and Chasity sang, performed a skit, made crafts with the children, and shared stories about the love of Christ from the New Testament.
A Bible in their native tongue, which is Chichewa, is a little more than $8. Thank you for your support!
