River's Road to Recovery

It still seems like a bit of a bad dream, but it was only last Friday, Mum and dad (Lynda and Nathan), were given the most devastating news over a midnight phone call from their doctor. Their beautiful little boy, River, was diagnosed with Leukemia. River was rushed to Lismore hospital and has now been moved to Lady Cilantro Hospital in Brisbane to undergo further examination and commence treatment. River’s mummy and daddy are close by his side.

Even with a positive prognosis the hardest bit will be the months and years of treatments for River and his mum and dad. Nath and Lyndi are well known to the Byron/Lennox community as both are hardworking local business people (The Green Bistro at Byron bowlo and Trawlers at Bruns).

The sooner we begin to raise funds, the sooner we can begin to help the family by providing meals and assisting with the everyday bills that still roll in. We don’t want Nath and Lyndi to worry and stress about money. We want for them what every parent would – to be able to focus all their love and devotion on their little boy.

I know how awesome and strong the Byron Shire, Lennox, Port Macquarie, Ellenborough and other surrounding communities are. Nath and Lyndi can't help but touch the lives of all they meet in some way.

Let's back this beautiful family and little River all the way!!!
