LOVE OUR HARTS

As you may know the Harts have already faced more tragedy and adversity than most of us can imagine.  Through all of this the family has remained optimistic and managed every challenge that has come their way.  

Currently, Rania (sophomore in high school) and Collin (7th grader in middle school) are fighting a serious bacterial infection and are in quarantine at Children's hospital in Aurora.  Their first visit to the ER was Friday, Sep 8, followed by admission several days later.  Rania and Collin went into Childrens for dehydration on Tuesday, Sep 12, and haven’t come out as of today, Sep 17.  They were diagnosed with e-Coli which has progressed to the next stage producing the Shiga toxin which is causing kidney failure.  This only occurs in 1 in 1,000 patients but, unfortunately, both children now have it.  Colin is doing dialysis and both have had platelet transfusions.  There have been complications and little bumps along the way. Of course both are homesick . The children are expected to be in hospital several more days. The money raised will help pay the high medical deductible.
