Love on the Stager Family

Donation protected
Many of you know the situation in which the Stagers find themselves. In brief, they have left their home and literally all of their worldly belongings, and have moved into an apartment. Because of an active but hidden water leak, their home had toxic mold and mycotoxins - the impact  on their family's health has been significant, not to mention the emotional journey of leaving their home and belongings . . . and then there's the financial aspect. They found out at the end of May that their insurance company will not provide any coverage for loss or cleaning because of an exclusion for a ground water leak.

Chances are, if you know the Stagers, you know that they are life giving people - you've experienced their friendship, encouragement and love! Despite the challenge that they are facing it is clear that they are continuing to press into Jesus and seek what he has for them in and through this. Here's and opportunity for you to stand with them and send a little tangible love their way. Would you continue to pray for the Stagers and would you consider blessing them financially so that they can be relieved of some of the financial burdern that they are bearing? Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus!

Here's a more detailed account from Anna: Two years ago, we moved to Spokane for Steve to take a senior pastor position at a church. A year and a half after we moved we were concerned because our oldest child was not gaining any weight, had developed an autoimmune syndrome, was experiencing an increase in learning difficulties and had constant stomach pain. In Sept 2016 we went to a specialist who suggested we needed to look into mold exposure. So in October we did a specific test and discovered mycotoxins associated with a particular mold being excreted in our son's urine. We then did a dust sample test in Dec 2016 that indicated the home had higher levels of molds that are indicative of an active water leak. We searched all over the house to find the water leak. We couldn't find anything. So we prayed and asked God to show us. The next week our basement floor was soaked with water. There was a foundation leak back behind the stairs - we couldn't see it or smell out it in the house. Later we learned that every so many years when the water level was high a larger leak occurred but most likely small ones were happening each year undetected also. We did an air sample of that area and it tested very high for the same kind of toxic mold that our son's test indicated.

After consulting our son's doctor and many other professionals and while experiencing breathing difficulty even after sealing off the area we decided to leave our home and belongings March 21st. Anna's parents graciously allowed us to stay with them until we were able to find an apartment that was safe to live in. In the meantime we waited to hear if insurance would provide coverage. Within 3 days our son's stomach pain went away. As time has passed we are seeing other gradual health improvements in him and Anna especially. At the end of May we learned the insurance won't provide any coverage for loss or cleaning because of an exclusion for a ground water leak. At this point we are cleaning what we can and yet are having to walk away from over half of our belongings because of the high cost to clean items and because of the danger of bringing any mold or mycotoxins with us into our new home.
