Josh McGough was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) brain cancer on 10/10/20 after weeks of headaches. This is an incurable cancer with an expectation of only months to live. Multiple tumors were surgically removed and Josh is preparing to start radiation treatment.
Josh is a former inner city pastor and ICU nurse who was in school to become a nurse anesthetist when this tragedy struck. He and his wife Traci have four precious kids ranging from five to eleven years old. Josh is a kind, patient, and humorous guy who is deeply loved by his family and friends.
As Traci's sister, I've watched this family continually find ways to laugh and love through the enormous pressures of a dad in graduate school, a mom working full-time, and caring for four kids who all definitely have minds of their own! And yet, to step into their house is to walk into a home bursting with laughing kids, zany ideas of fun, and deep affection. Josh is the rock of this family. It breaks our hearts that these kids would have to fear for their father's health for even a moment. Let's do everything that we can to make sure that they don't have to!
Josh is unable to work or attend school while he recovers from major brain surgery and faces additional cancer treatments. All funds raised will be used to support this wonderful family through the costs of medical treatment. We are also deeply grateful for prayers to cover the McGough family for the journey ahead.
