Dan Thorson and his Family need your financial assistance.
For the past couple of months, Dan had been struggling with pain in breathing and coughing, eventually Dan was diagnosed with CUP - Cancer (Cancer of Unknown Primary) this is an aggressive cancer. After spending some time at the Mayo Clinic and locally in Sioux Falls, in early December he was given the dire life expectancy of 3 to 12 weeks.
Now that the family members and Dan have digested the gut-wrenching blow this information gave them, they feel like its time to reach out and share the sad news. It’s time solicitate some assistance for the family as they are busy seeking treatment and fighting this horrible and rare form of cancer. The need financially is strong, as his family wants to ability to spend quality time with Dan although his treatment and fight.
Dan wants everyone to know that although the oncologist prediction was quite dire - he is not ready to except this, he said he is a Marine and a fighter! He is not going to take this lying down. He has told the Doctors he wants to go as aggressive with treatment as they will let him.
Dan starting radiation December 7th and will continue to have more four more radiation treatments this week, and starting next week (December 11th) he will add chemotherapy. Currently he will receive treatment and is hospitalized in Sioux Falls, SD at Avera.
Dan and his family appreciated all the love prayers and support that every one has sent me. They truly want to thank everyone.
The financial proceeds will initially be used to give the family the ability to be together, and not be concerned about work, vacation time/allocation, and unexpected financial needs this illness has given them. We want them to worry about Dan and not about money during this stressful and holiday time.
Currently his wife Jody is on vacation from her job, and is by his side everyday. During this holiday season, please take time to hug your family and remember that some people are not enjoying the holidays the same way, and are just taking life's simple gift of time very seriously.
