Life sometimes gives unexpected turns and we are entering one of those seasons. We have recently been told that Todd must have open heart surgery. This has been an eye opener to us in so many ways. A new journey for all of us. Although it sounds scary, we are thanking the Lord for this discovery, the details surrounding it and especially that it is not related to heart disease. It is all mechanical but none the less very serious.
They have told us Todd will likely be in the hospital 10 days and his recovery time will be a couple of months (8-10 weeks). It is a long surgery and a long recovery. With much council we are reaching out to you, our family and friends for some help. The Lord is moving and doing so much through this season, but we know we cannot do this alone. The past year and missing my parents, we have been in a season of understanding how important the kingdom is in working together.
Our needs:
First and most importantly prayer! We appreciate all your prayers for Todd and our family. Please pray for the doctors, our family and fast recovery time. All of the intricacies of this situation can be very overwhelming and we appreciate your prayer coverage.
Second, financially. We have realized that while Todd is recovering we will have many medical bills and living expenses. Being self-employed is a blessing, but it also comes with its ups and downs. Even so, we know God has called us to this business. Todd is doing remarkably well right now, but with the reality of heart surgery next month we face fears and anxiety over many of the details that are to come. You never know what will come around the corner in your life, but we know with God all things are possible. If you feel led, we would appreciate your tangible help.
