Hi everyone,
We need your help. As some of you may already know, our close friend DJ and his family are going through a difficult time. His father is fatally ill with stage four cancer. Recently his condition has worsened. Because DJ's father was their main source of income, his family is suffering financially and he has expressed concern about not being able to afford many of his living expenses. The odds of returning next year are growing slim because of this. As his friends, we would hate to lose him as a part of our class.
DJ is a perfect example of a most supportive friend. There are many of us who could attest to this statement through stories of late night conversations, busy shifts at work, a break through in class work, or even just a passing moment in the hall at school. It's time for us to step up and support him in return. We can pull together and get a sum of money to lighten his family's financial burdens. We've set the goal at 4,000 dollars in order to pay DJ's rent for the next few months and have a small additional amount to donate to his family to support them in anyway possible. It is a lofty goal, but we can do it! Please please please give what you can; any amount is greatly appreciated.
We're trusting you to keep this a secret until we can raise a substantial amount. We know that DJ has a difficult time asking for even the smallest favors, so we've taken the initiative to ask for him. DJ will accept help from the people who care about him most.
