Love for the Coffee Hag

Donation protected
Come for the coffee, stay for the community.

If you've ever been to the Coffee Hag you know it is more than just a coffee shop.

It is a place with a heart and soul and through it beats the lifeblood of our community.

How often have you been having a rough day, stopped in for a coffee and left with both your literal and figurative cup full because of an interaction with the staff?
If you've ever been on the receiving end of a Jenn Melby-Kelley hug you know the Hag is about more than just selling coffee...
How many of us can imagine a Pride Celebration that doesn't involve a stop by the Hag?
Where did we gather in 2012 to celebrate the defeat of the same-sex marriage ban?
Where did we gather to mourn after the shock of the 2016 election?

The Hag is more than just a place to grab a coffee, for many of us it feels like a second home.  A safe space we know we can go to to find  a friendly face and an understanding , empathetic ear.

Jenn and Anna are always willing to go the extra mile, to take the time to listen, to host a fundraiser or donate an item to a silent auction.

Things have been tough on everyone since March, and the Hag is no exception.  Shutdowns are hard, and this is the third time since the original lockdown that Jenn and Anna have decided to close down for the safety of their staff and for OUR safety.

And that's the thing - closing down is hard, but it's the right thing to do.  When I talked to Jenn just before this last decision to close, she said her only concern about closing was that it put her staff in a hard place financially.

In fact when I mentioned the idea of setting up this Go Fund Me the first thing Jenn said to me (after Thank You) was that she would take any monies raised and divide it evenly between the staff.

So my friends, what I'm saying to you is this: The Hag has always been there for us, now it is time for us to be there for the Hag.

Any and all funds raised will go directly to the Coffee Hag to be distributed to the Hagsters.

I know times are hard for everyone right now, and I am not asking you to give more than you can afford.  If we all give a little we can accomplish great things!  If you are unable to make a donation, please consider sharing this campaign on your social media, the more people we get involved, the better the results!

I know personally my life is better because of the Hag.  If you can say the same I ask you to make a donation, in *any* amount, to help them through these hard times.

We know the Hag loves us, let's show the Hag how much we love it!
