Love for Rilee-Kate

Meet Rilee-Kate. She was born on February 16th 2018 to her parents, Nath and Katie, and big sister Reagan. She came into the world healthy and strong at 8 lbs 15 oz and 21.5 inches long!
After a couple of good weeks, mom and dad noticed RK was having some labored breathing and wouldn’t eat like she had before. Concerned, they took RK to the ER at Upson Regional on Sunday morning, March 4th. Those doctors suggested a possible bowel obstruction and sent her by ambulance to Scottish Rite in Atlanta. After some extensive tests, doctors broke the devastating news that Rilee-Kate was suffering from Bacterial Menengitis. It’s an aggressive disease that directly effects the brain and can be fatal or have lasting brain damage impairing one’s ability to function on a day-to-day basis. Once diagnosed, RK was sedated and intubated to give her brain some much needed rest as she underwent additional testing.
This baby is my niece. We are not a family that easily seeks charity, but I am an aunt seeking some relief for my big brother and his sweet wife as they suffer the unimaginable. If you can, please consider a donation of any size. Nothing is too small. Rilee-Kate is spending every day in the NICU and still undergoing extensive tests, and as we all know health insurance will only go so far. Katie is still on maternity leave and Nath just started a new job in December so PTO is not yet available, but obviously the place he should be is at his daughter’s side.
If donating isn’t possible, we understand and ask for your prayers. Our God is an awesome God whose reasons and purposes are not always understood. But He has seen our family through everything and I know this tragic occurrence is no exception.
