Love for Lowin

Love for Lowin is being created out of love from family to seek help for The Willoughbys as they begin the difficult journey of caring for a child with a brain tumor.

Lowin Olivia Willoughby is a feisty, hilarious, beautifully wild 3 year old who loves to sing, twirl and laugh. She is no stranger to challenges and has shown to be a brave, happy, strong fighter. Born into this world she was intubated and fought her way through her NICU journey, later to be challenged with therapies and obstacles related to Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome..... now Lowin and her family must face her most challenging journey yet, at only 3 years old she has been diagnosed with a large rare brain tumor located deep in the left side of her brain next to her brain stem.

Lowin is currently at UPMC children’s hospital where she has had extensive imaging scans so the doctors can get to know her tumor well. They are working on a treatment plan, starting with an operation scheduled for Monday to remove portion of the tumor and to biopsy the tissue to get a better understanding of what exactly they are dealing with. Due to the location of the tumor they are not able to remove it completely at this time. They anticipate Lowin will need to recover from the operation in the hospital for a minimum of 3 weeks.
