Love For Logan Fund

Donation protected
For those of you who are acquainted with the Abiva’s, you’re aware of the heartbreak they’ve had to endure (and are still enduring) for the past 2+ years with Logan’s terminal condition.

After celebrating Logan’s 4th birthday, it was with a heavy heart that the family updated their friends and family of the prognosis of 1 year left, maybe less.  They’re doing their best to treasure the moments they have with Logan in the little time they have left.

In the meantime, they’re also trying to put behind them funeral arrangements which would be too much to bear, emotionally, when the time comes. Currently, the family is dealing with how to pay for the funeral.  If you would like to show your support with more than words, please consider supporting them by contributing to the Love For Logan Fund. This will help with funeral costs as well as any expenses for Logan’s current needs. Any amount will help and will be greatly appreciated.

FYI -  The family has no clue about this fund being set up for Logan so they’re probably reading this now along with you (hi!). We’re just friends (Debbie, Joann, Jocelyn, Judy, Julie, and Sophie) trying to find ways to help. Other than being there emotionally for them, we believe this will help lessen their heavy load…even if by just a little.

Logan’s Story

From 9 months old, Logan had low muscle tone and was developmentally delayed thereafter. The doctors did not know why and Logan went through a barrage of tests.  During this time, he was diagnosed with cerebral palsy and was in physical therapy for about a year.

Then in June of 2016, just shy of Logan’s 2nd birthday, the Abiva’s got a final diagnosis through Genetics/DNA testing. They were devastated to learn that their happy and loving little boy had Alexander's disease. It's a very rare genetic condition that severely affects his nervous system with no treatment or known cure. This means that he will not survive past childhood.

Logan recently celebrated his 4th birthday in July. Over the past few months, his health has been changing rapidly. The initial prognosis was terminal, likely until the age of 5-10 years old.  But recently, doctors say he has about a year left, maybe less.

Please keep them in your prayers.  Any thoughts and words of support are also welcomed.
