LOVE for Linsey

Linsey is a strong and beautiful woman, inside and out. At the age of 35 she has fought various medical issues throughout her whole life, but that never stopped her from living and enjoying life when she felt good! Several years ago, Linsey was diagnosed with an immune deficiency called Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID) it is an uncommon immune deficiency and doctors have worked with her for years to control and stabilize it.  Even though the CVID was a pain to deal with Linsey always found a way to do things she enjoyed, such as snuggle her nephew, go for dinner and movie with Mom, hang with her sister for sushi nights and Disney musicals. 

Most recently, early July, during a lunch date with her Mom, Linsey suffered what we thought was a stroke.. after time spent in the hospital, further testing and biopsies, a lesion was found on her brain and not long after she was diagnosed with a rare disease called PML (Progressive Multifocal Lukoencephalopathy) PML is caused by  the JC virus (that many people have in their body) that can be normally contained with a good immune system.  Since Linsey has been battling with a weak immune system, this virus was able to take advantage and has move through her body to her brain.  Unfortunately, there is no current treatment for this virus, and as it spreads it continues to debilitate her.

She is currently suffering many neurologic deficits with the right side of her body and is unable to communicate.  A glimmer of hope is Linsey has been enrolled into a clinical trial that will give her body the chance to fight this virus and with hard work and therapy she may be able to regain some strengths and function. Most who are battling PML have been left with varying degrees of neurological disabilities. 

This campaign is to help support Linsey during her fight against PML with her current/future, medical expenses and living expenses.
