Dear Friends, Bruin Nation & Football Brotherhood,
The Howse Family (John, Lindy, Little John, Queen & Lincoln) need our help. As many of you know, their youngest son Lincoln, has been dealing with a Feeding Disorder with Failure to Thrive. Lincoln is 5 years old, with a feeding tube that supplies daily nutrients needed for him to live. He is an extremely happy boy and is apart of our Bruin Family. He can usually be spotted at any sporting event, with his trucks in the sandpit.
Over the last year Lindy has been dealing with the insurance, doctors and case managers trying to get approval for the care Lincoln needs. She has had to fight appeal after appeal only to be told NO. Finally, by the Grace of God, they received a phone call last week that Lincoln has been accepted into the Munroe - Meyer Institute Program located in Omaha, Nebraska. This is an intensive feeding program that he needs to help train his brain to be able to eat. They will begin treatment March 2, 2020 - May 8, 2020.
With all that being said, the Howse family will need to divide and conquer living in two separate places while Lincoln receives treatment. Lindy will not be able to work full-time and will be staying at the Ronald McDonald house during this 2 month treatment period. Lindy and Lincoln will attend therapy Mon- Friday 8am - 5pm. Big John will stay behind and continue working and caring for Queen and Little John.
They have a big insurance deductible without any travel expenses. The Howses will need our help to offset the cost of living in two separate places, co-pays, loss of income, food & gas.
