Love for Kim & Dave

When life is unfair we look at others and pray for help. We are asking for help! For those who know Dave and Kim you know two amazing people who have raised a pretty incredible family. Their four children and four grandchildren are asking for your help.

Kim's battle started with Stage 3 Breast Cancer a few years ago. She went through chemotherapy,  radiation and had a mastectomy.  After several surgeries Kim thought things would get better. She suffered several complications from her treatment leaving her with 13 surgeries that left her to this day on a feeding tube.  Kim's medical issues are ongoing and now she is helping her husband fight for his life.

Their daughter Danielle shares his past few weeks written below.

"It’s been a rough few weeks. The hardest ever!!!!

About 5 weeks ago my dad was diagnosed with stage 4 lung and bone cancer. What was supposed to be a doctors appointment for a fractured disk, turned into a nightmare. They found tumors on his spine. The dr suggested they do a biopsy, and while they were in there, they’d repair the disk. That was just going to be a quick day surgery and he’d be on his way. Nope.

The pain was so unbearable, they kept him for 4 days, then sent him home. Fast forward a week. Pain is still unmanageable. Hurt to move, eat, sleep, and breathe. A few short days after this, he’s taken to the hospital and admitted to the icu.
We weren’t sure he was going to make it. He was heavily sedated to manage the pain. He had no idea what year it was. He had no clue anybody was even there. He would say a few things to you, but would not remember you were there. Terrifying.
The next day, he snapped out of it. He woke up (still in pain) but was able to function. He called my mom and asked her where she was, and he wanted a coffee. We were relieved he was awake and talking. We had our dad back.

He was finally moved from the icu to the cancer floor 4 days later. We thought, “this is great. We’re going to get him home!” Wrong.
The doctors and nurses were still trying to manage his pain, and try to get chemo started. Fail.
They tried a low dose of chemo. But they can’t move forward due to low blood levels. They’ve tried everything they could think of to get the platelets up. No success.

They figured, ok let’s try to get him up and walking. Well, he couldn’t move his legs. He can’t feel his legs.

He’s paralyzed.

They did another scan. The neurologist came back with less than good news. Dads cancer had spread, and it’s spreading rapidly. It’s all over his spine, crushing his nerves, preventing him from being able to feel or move his legs. MY DAD, a man who worked 90 hours a week. A man who couldn’t sit down longer than 30 seconds. Paralyzed.

It’s crazy to think that just 5 short weeks ago, we were cooking out, swimming with the kids, having the best day. To this. How does this happen? How could this happen? A man so damn selfless, is about to be taken from us so soon... WHY???

We’re going to enjoy the last remaining weeks we have together. He will be spending them with his grandchildren, who he loves more than life itself. I’m broken for them. I’m broken for my mom. My brother. My sisters. He’ll never get the chance to see them get married. Have more children. Buy their first homes. Nothing. It’s not fair. I got all of the above with my dad. I feel awful for them.

Dad, we love you more than you could ever imagine. You gave us a life most could only dream of having.  ❤️"

We need your help!!! Cancer is in everyone's life... This family needs the support from everyone right now. This is going to be a tough road for them all.  Kim is unable to work and now Dave is unable to work and between medical bills and their household bills life is very overwhelming! The last thing anyone should be worrying about is bills when you are fighting for your life. please take a moment to say a pray for this family and send a donation to them.

Thank you and God Bless
