Love for a Foster Boy

Yesterday a well-loved little boy went to be with Jesus.

Jesus said that whatever we do for the least of these, we do for him. Jesus' heart is deeply connected with the most vulnerable.  This little boy was the least of these. He was born with special needs and required constant, vigilant medical care…and love.

I cannot tell you this little boy’s name, because he’s a foster child, and we are not allowed to post his name or images online. I can tell you that he was really loved by his foster mom and dad and little brother. You can see him and his little brother in the picture, waiting for the bus. He is part of my family.

The State of Michigan only gives foster families $800 for any funeral expenses. This does not begin to cover the cost. It is my estimate that the family will need $9000 to cover funeral expenses.  

Together we can take up some of the burden of this grieving family, and together, by giving, we can show that we honor the commitment they made to make his life on this earth happier.
