    LOVE BOTSWANA FOOD DRIVE

The Botswana government has taken extreme, heroic measures to prevent the Covid-19 Virus from coming in and spreading in the country. We only have 13 recorded cases at this point as of April 10. There has been a household lockdown on a massive scale which started on Thursday April 2. However, it is going to take time to get food to the population who live from hand to mouth, from day to day. We are in a state of National Emergency like many countries.

The government is doing its best to take care of people and as Love Botswana, we are doing our part by helping to fill this gap. For over a week, people with little, or no money have been without essential, basic food items.

Will you help us with a food bank to serve our area?
We will be working closely with the relevant government structures locally in our District including ministry of health and the Covid -19 District Respond Teams but in reality, these will only materialize on the ground at the end of this month. In the meantime, we can help the most desperate cases within a short time, if we buy the food quickly, together!
We received a call from a single mother of 5 children who haven’t eaten for some days. Listen

While most of us reading this have food in our own tummies, food in the fridge, and means to go to the shops, many are not in that place in Botswana, particularly the people we already serve in the remote areas of the North. In our village alone, for years, we weekly serve hundreds of vulnerable clients already identified but now, the reality on the ground as changed.
We will, as soon as we can, by faith, with what little we have in this situation, be purchasing food and getting one-month parcels together for people to fill this gap. We have a network already in the 24 neighborhoods in our village of Maun through which we can roll-out. With our Life Centre, we have a strategic command-center that can serve this need.

It takes around $200 to feed a family of 6 for a month. Would you help us to reach our goal to feed 100 families in the next few weeks? Any amount would go a long way! For about a dollar a day per person, we can bring relief to these families.Copyright © 2020 Love Botswana, All rights reserved.
