Love and Support for Shannon Eileen Dufresne

Donation protected
Shannon Eileen Dufresne had a stroke on April 4, 2019.  Her journey of healing began at Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) where she had brain surgery to relieve the pressure in her brain and to have a drainage tube inserted to allow for excess blood to drain.  Day 13 her daughter, LaurelEileen, said “Good Morning, Mama”and Shannon opened her eyes!  She slowly began coming out of the coma.  Her next step was Bethesda Medical Hospital in St. Paul where staff set goals for the next 6 weeks.  She floored everyone by reaching those goals in 2 weeks.  Shannon then moved back to HCMC’s KNAPP Rehabilitation Center for intensive rehab.  She worked diligently every day,  relearning the basic daily tasks we take for granted.  Each day she participated in speech, OT, and PT,  learning to talk, walk and feed herself.  On June 14 Shannon ‘s family took her home!  Her father, Dick, built a ramp so Shannon could be wheeled into the house.  She continues to work on her recovery daily, often needing to travel to HCMC for her special services.  The loss of her income and the increased expenses have put her family in debt.  This GoFund Me Campaign has been started to help Shannon and her family with the mounting medical and living expenses.  The car they rely on is due for renewal of license tabs and insurance.  It also  needs some repair.  We hope you will find it in your heart to join us in support of Shannon and her family through this difficult time. Thank you, thank you, thank you for your love, prayers and support for this precious family.
