 John Sasso, my beloved brother-in-law, loving husband to my sister Meghan O’Hara, is a devoted father to their sons Rohan and Ben, a caring son, a cherished colleague, an amazing cook, and a steady friend. John and Meg met as undergraduates at Holy Cross College and celebrated their 30th wedding Anniversary in the summer of 2025 by renewing their vows. Anyone who has savored John’s famous homemade tomato sauce or backyard barbecue knows that John pours love and care into everything he does.

 Last June, John suffered a massive seizure that occurred without warning. Up until that moment, John was healthy and active, an avid skier and ocean lover. As if the seizure wasn’t enough of a shock, doctors explained that the seizure was caused by a benign brain tumor. John underwent his initial neurosurgery on July 15th.

 Unfortunately, John experienced significant complications following surgery and remains hospitalized nearly 3 months later. He has endured three neurosurgeries, and multiple scary, post-operative challenges. Meg has been by his side every day and has learned that recovery from a Traumatic Brain Injury—and the journey back to full health—is a complex process that will take months of dedicated rehabilitation.

 As you can imagine, this crisis has put a tremendous strain on Meg and John as they navigate this very difficult recovery journey. I'm setting up this fundraiser to take some of the financial weight off Meg and John, so they can focus on what matters most: getting the best medical care for John so he can make a full recovery. The fundraiser will be a source of support for Meg as she cares for him along that path.

 We are asking for donations to cover his medical treatments and massive out-of-pocket costs not covered by insurance. Additionally, they are facing travel and lodging expenses as they navigate to and from supportive therapies and medical care. John requires, and will continue to require, multiple therapies like physical therapy and occupational therapy and rehabilitation. We continue to pray for a full recovery for John, and that will take extensive medical treatments and intervention, which all come at a cost.
