Love and Support for Callie DePriest and Family

Donation protected

To the family and friends of Callie DePriest, Christian Bateman, and Mason Bateman:

As you may or may not know, Callie was in a severe car accident on Thursday, January 7th. The roads were wet, causing Callie to hydroplane off of the road. Her car was completely on it’s side resulting in her being stuck on the passenger side.

Upon arriving at the emergency room, it was too painful for her to sit up while also hard to breathe while laying down.

At this point, we have been told that Callie’s L1 and L2 in her back are broken or fractured as well as pushing against her spinal cord. She also has 2 broken or fractured ribs(we were originally told 7).

Callie will be going into surgery Friday, January 8th around 1:00pm to repair those injuries.

She cannot have visitors during this time due to COVID procedures. I know that being alone is not ideal or easy for her as she misses her son and family more than ever.

Callie is a strong daughter, mother, girlfriend, niece, bestfriend, granddaughter, and sister. She is employed at a local veterinary clinic as we all know she has a soft spot for saving animals.

We thank God that she is still with us. However, as we know, with these types of injuries it’s hard to tell how long she’ll need to recover. Her recovery may also require that her family take time off of work to ensure her safety and care.

What we do know is that she will miss an undetermined amount of work for which she will not be paid. After her surgery, she will come home to responsibilities such as physical therapy, living expenses, childcare , and food for herself, her son, and her boyfriend/sons father.

We know the impact that COVID-19 has had on so many families, but if you’re able to help it would help this amazing family out so much. Wether it be financial support or even food/meal donations, kind words or prayer; all would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE: January 8 @ 7:00pm Callie is now in recovery. The surgery went well. She is feeling a little nauseous. They are going to manage her pain before placing her in a room. She will be there for 1-2 weeks recovering! She will then be home recovering and doing physical therapy. It is also to our understanding that she can now have one visitor. Thank you so much to everyone for your support and prayers thus far! Callie and her family are truly blessed!
