Lou's Lung Cancer Fight

Donation protected

Dear Friends - Meet my mama, Lou Ellen. Mother of 6, grandmother of too many to count! A few months ago she was seen in the ER for a mini stroke. Following the numerous scans and tests related to the mini stroke, they found a spot on her lung that looked suspicious. We are so GRATEFUL that something brought her to the hopsital so that the doctors could discover an underlying issue that could have worsened over time with little to no symptoms. At the time, she was diagnosed with Stage I Non Small Cell Lung Cancer. After the discovery, they put a plan in place to operate and remove the lobe of her lung where the tumor was. But first they had to put a stent in her heart so that she would be strong enough for surgery. First came the heart procedure, and that went wonderfully. She spent a month recovering and then was scheduled for the lung procedure. Upon completion of that procedure, they found that the cancer had spread to a nearby lymphnode. She was then diagnosed at a Stage III. This came as a shock to us all. A very devastating shock. Onward she pushed. She would then need to start a very aggressive course of Chemotherapy.  Her first treatment was last Thursday, December 7th. It was a long day and I spent every minute with her to keep her company. She felt pretty decent in the couple days following her first infusion of 2 different chemo drugs. However, today I am taking her in for an infusion of fluids and anti-nausea meds since she's lost 11 lbs in about 4 days. She was looking forward to going back to work this week, because that's just who she is. Some would say a workaholic. She's not healthy or strong enough to return to work. She has to fight this and not worry about money at this time. She is struggling already to pay her bills and is extremely worried about making ends meet and paying medical bills after all of the procedures and treatments. I want to help relieve a bit of the financial burden she's experiencing. Eliminating stress and staying positive and strong is a very big part of fighting this ugly beast that is cancer. I know this comes during the holidays and it's a tough time for all...so a donation of ANY amount is greatly appreciated. As always - whether you are able to donate or not, I ask for your prayers. Thank you & God Bless.
