Lourdes' Memorial and Funeral Costs

Update:

Unfortunately my mother's health has been getting worse. A week ago she only had brain damage on her right lobe, the left was sluggish, and there is brain activity in both. The prognosis was poor, but there was still a little hope, so I chose to give her more time. Now she has developed brain damage in both her left and right lobes, and the chance of her having any quality of life or waking up is extremely low. This has all been so sudden, and expenses are piling up. The only thing she told me about her end of life wishes was "don't you dare cremate me, you better put me in the ground!"

I would like to give her that, but funerals and burial plots are something I am not financially prepared to purchase at this point. Any amount helps. I'm so sad to have to change this from a recovery to a burial fund. We all had so much hope 2 weeks ago, but now I just want to attempt to honor the only request she made to me.

I love her so much, and I have to try. Thank you everyone who has supported me emotionally through this experience.

Last week Lourdes suffered an aneurysm in her brain, which resulted in massive bleeding. She had to have an emergency life saving craniotomy on the right side of her brain to clip the aneurysm and remove the blood clot. They removed a piece of her skull and kept it off (don't worry, it'll be frozen until it's ready to be replaced) in order to regulate her brain pressure while she recovers.

Lourdes is very lucky to be alive. While crossing the street, she bumped into a car sitting at a light, and then fell. The driver of that car (Glen) noticed her, saw she fell a second time, and got out of his car to help her. When he spoke to her, he noticed something was off, asked her if there was anyone he could call to come be with her, and she gave him my number (Hi, I'm Sheina, Lourdes' daughter).

Glen blew up my phone until I picked up, and because he persisted in reaching me I was able to make it to her in time to drive her to Overlook hospital. I got there within 10 minutes of her going unconscious, and brought her to the best place she could be. We had no idea what was wrong when we arrived to the ER, but when they realized she had a signficant hemorrhage, they prepared her for emergency brain surgery and saved her life.

Now Lourdes is in a coma, recovering from this trauma to her brain. I am raising money to help with medical, nursing facility, and travel expenses. All of this adds up, and could take a huge toll on her assets. Once she's awake, she'll have to undergo extensive rehabilitation in order to recover.

Anything you can give will be a huge help. Lourdes is the type of person who would help anyone she could. If she got it, you got it. If you need her prayers, time, or anything she could offer, it's yours. That is Lourdes.

She's a fighter, and I know she'll make it through this. Let's give her less to worry about so she can focus all of her energy on her recovery.
