<div>Je n’ai absolument pas l’habitude de faire ce genre de démarche, et honnêtement, je ne pensais jamais avoir à le faire un jour. Mais à l’heure actuelle, c’est la seule solution que j’ai trouvée pour venir en aide à mon conjoint.

<div>Je m’appelle Pamela, je vis au Québec et je lance cette collecte pour soutenir mon conjoint, Romayne, qui vit en Jamaïque.

<div>L’ouragan Melissa a causé d’importants dommages à sa maison : le toit a été gravement endommagé et une section est partie avec l'ouragan, plusieurs pièces sont inhabitables et la majorité de ses biens ont été perdus. Il se retrouve sans logement stable et ne pourra pas travailler pendant plusieurs semaines car l'hôtel où il travaille réouvrira ses portes seulement le 15 décembre.

<div>Les fonds serviront à couvrir les besoins urgents (hébergement temporaire, nourriture, vêtements et réparations de base) et, si possible, à entamer des démarches pour qu’il puisse venir temporairement au Canada pendant la période de reconstruction. Cela lui permettrait de retrouver un environnement sûr et de reprendre des forces avant de retourner rebâtir sa maison.

<div>L’objectif est fixé à 7 000 $ CAD, qui seront convertis en dollars jamaïcains (JMD) selon les besoins sur place.

<div>Chaque contribution, même modeste, fera une réelle différence pour Romayne.

<div>My name is Pamela, im living in Canada and I'm launching this fundraiser to support my partner, Romayne, who lives in Jamaica. Hurricane Melissa caused significant damage to his house: the roof was badly damaged, and a section was torn off by the hurricane. Several rooms are uninhabitable, and most of his belongings were lost. He's left without stable housing and won't be able to work for several weeks because the hotel where he works won't reopen until December 15th.

<div>The funds will be used to cover urgent needs (temporary housing, food, clothing, and basic repairs) and, if possible, to begin the process of bringing him temporarily to Canada during the reconstruction period. This would allow him to find a safe environment and regain his strength before returning to rebuild his home.

<div>The goal is $7,000 CAD, which will be converted to Jamaican dollars (JMD) as needed.
</div>
<div>Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a real difference for Romayne.
