Louisiana- Hurricane Laura Relief Effort
We guarantee that 100% of these funds will go directly to relief efforts for residents impacted by the catastrophic damage caused by Hurricane Laura and the long road ahead to rebuild.
On August 27, 2020 (the 15th year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina) Hurricane Laura came barreling through the coast of Louisiana and Texas making landfall in Cameron, LA and causing catastrophic damage and even total destruction to homes, small businesses, schools & churches. The National Guard reported atleast 150 residents failed to properly evacuate. As death toll and damage assessments rise, we will update the post with the most recent Death/Injury toll numbers.
In addition to monetary donations, we will be sharing multiple citywide drop-off locations in the (greater) Jacksonville area via Facebook page for items that are needed to assist displaced survivors, and will be driving all the loaded up trucks to Louisiana ourselves to make ensure all donated items are received directly.
Donation Items include (but are not limited to): Garbage bags, tools, first aid kits, cleaning supplies, flashlights, batteries, box fans, extension cords, duct tape, air mattresses, sleeping bags, blankets, backpacks, pillows, paper products, pet supplies, baby diapers and formula, hygiene products (both personal and feminine), facemasks, Water, non-perishable food, generators, fuel, tarps, etc.
With the spread of Covid-19 and recent events circulating in society, these are very trying times for Americans and natural disasters only increase the hardships we face. We ask everybody to approach this situation with UNITY a people, a country, and as human beings. Thank You and God Bless.
