Help save our friend!

On the morning of December 17th 2017, our beloved Louis Follacchio, a 26 year old from Melbourne Australia, had a motorbike accident. He is now fighting for his life in a Balinese hospital BIMC Nusa Dua in ICU after receiving emergency surgery. He suffered life threatening injuries due to being thrown from his motorbike and striking his face and temple on the road side kurb. He is currently in an induced coma receiving urgent medical treatment and care.

Although Louis was wearing his helmet, the impact of the accident resulted in him having severe head injuries with multiple complications and fractures and he is  also suffering lung trauma and more complications. Louis remains in a critical condition after already having multiple operations. We were told Louis would depend on the ventilator for a long period of time and once his condition is stable, transfer him to Melbourne so he can continue fighting for his life.

As of now, the medical bills are in excess of $100,000 and has the potential of exceeding $500,000 over the next 12 month period. His first operation alone was approximately $55,000. Our goal is to raise $150,000. This is an up-front payment for the medical flight home, hence our desperation at this time. When Louis gets home, he will continue treatment in a Melbourne hospital. If we exceed our goal, further contributions will be put towards future procedures and rehabilitation. Any remainder money will then be paid forward to anyone else who is suffering in similar situations, as per the family’s request.

Being Christmas time, we understand that it may be hard to dig deep financially but we ask if you can please be generous enough to donate as little or as much as possible, it would be really appreciated. No donation is too small. Please keep Louis and his family in your prayers and thoughts. Also, thank you to the friends and family who have travelled to Bali to be with him in this time of need. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at the Balinese hospital who have worked tirelessly to keep Louis alive, and also to Made Kutayana - the local Balinese man - who played a pivotal role in getting Louis to the hospital. Without them, we may have lost our best friend.
