Thank You to everyone that Helped us out!

Hello,

How are you all doing? I hope you are staying safe from this crazy virus that is going around. We are all doing good. All we do is stay indoors, cleaning, sanitizing, playing both board and video games, getting a little exercise in and watching movies(that I never liked doing, but I guess once in a while you got to bend and flex for the family). Mario and the boys have been home with me for three weeks and of course I’m just loving it.

Well since we are stuck inside, I thought I would give you a little update of my health. Back in July of 2019 doctors really thought I didn’t have a chance and were puzzled on how my heart just failed out of nowhere. We were scared, and together we shed a lot of tears. A lot of uneasiness was felt, as well as a lot of uncertainty took control of us all. It sure was a scary situation! After lots of great care from awesome doctors in the hospital and a lot of family support, I pulled through. My heart was so weak that they thought I needed an immediate heart transplant.  Once they stabilized me to travel, I started to go back and forth to Denver for three months, to check if I could use a new heart. After lots of testing they found out my aorta was closed out and it would be much more dangerous for me to go through such surgeries. It’s been a couple of months that I no longer had to travel. Together the doctors in Denver and the doctors in Albuquerque have been in communication and currently I am stable and starting to feel good. They are going to continue to treat me with medications for now, but the need for a heart transplant is still an option.

It is with all the support and kindness from family and friends that I have been able to make it through this tough time. I am truly blessed to have you all in my life. Hope you all stay safe and continue to find health, and happiness.

May your Easter Holiday be full of Joy, Happiness and Peace today and always.

Take care and I hope we can see you all soon.

Love always,

LouElla, Mario, Dominic, Derick, and Donovan

In need of a Heart Transplant

Hello, family and friends – my mom LouElla needs your help as she and our family deal with her diagnosis.  Your donations to this campaign will cover my mom's expenses to travel to and from Aurora Colorado. She will need your help for lodging, food, fuel, rental car and airline tickets.  Please travel that road with her as we need your help.

For those of you that do not know me my name is Dominic Romero,  Mario and LouElla's oldest son. It is hard to find the right words to write this, as our family tends to be very private and we usually do not like to talk about personal issues. However, we are strong believers in the power of prayer and we are asking for your prayers and support. My grandma Margie Baca and myself have created this Go Fund Me to support my mom, LouElla.  Unfortunately, as many of you might already know my mom has gone through so much in her life time.

A little background story:    Back in 1982 when my mom was 9 years old she suffered from eye problems. Doctors thought it was cancer for she had all the symptoms. It turned out to be a be-nine pseudo tumor behind the eye acting like cancer but it wasn't.  It was a very rare tumor, never been heard of at that time.  Doctors were able to treat it with Chemotherapy, Radiation and lots of medication, losing the vision on her right side. She battled that for 10 years. Than she was told that she could not be able to have children. Well by miracle she was able to have myself and my twin brothers. After having my twin brothers she again got sick, not being able to do much walking and landed in a wheelchair.  She went through a total hip replacement on both legs. Than once again my mom got sick, back in 2006, she was diagnosed with another rare disease, a life-threatening illness called Giant Cell Myocarditis. It is an autoimmune disease that is only found at autopsy.  Her immune system was attacking her own heart. There is no known cure for this disease, and her treatment has been all experimental. Everything was going as well as can be expected until July 15th of 2019.  She started experiencing some chest discomfort and her heart was beating, as if it was going to come out of her chest.  She was admitted to the hospital for 3 weeks, and It was determined during this time that her heart was only functioning at 10-15%, so doctors installed a pace maker/defibrillator to help her heart work properly. It was also determined that she was going to need a heart transplant, as they do not think her heart could repair for the second time. Her next step is to travel to Aurora, CO to be evaluated at the University of Colorado hospital for a heart transplant. We are trying to raise money for my mom. All this came to us as a shock. Everything happened in a couple of months with no time to process feelings, emotions, or options. As you can imagine there is a huge amount of stress on our family. All of this traveling is going to be expensive. Health insurance will only cover hospital stuff and the rest is on us to pay out of pocket. My parents would never come out and ask for help, so my grandmother and I decided we would do it.  Anything helps and would be greatly appreciated. We ask everyone please consider making a donation to help my mom. For those who are children of awesome parents, you would do anything for your parents that need the help. We cannot control unforeseen events like the one that we are facing right now, however, collectively as a team of family and friends; we can make a difference.  Many of you know the smiles that my mom brings. She comes from a wonderful background and family. My mom is very involved in our community, schools, and sports. She will always try to help anyone in need. For being a stay at home mom she is a very hard working mom, and always wanting to please everyone and making sure they are happy and helped. She is an awesome mom to myself, and my 14-year-old twin brothers.

Please help and Please share this campaign fund to your family and friends.

Any type of donations are tax deductible. And these donations will help cover all out of the hospital expenses while being in Colorado.  My grandparents Manuel and Margie Baca is assisting with the paperwork.  In lieu of a GoFundMe online donation, you may send a check made payable Margie Baca, Dominic Romero and Mario Romero noting in the memo line: "For LouElla", and mail it to 655 Vancouver Rd SE, Rio Rancho, NM 87124 (OR) 809 Grant Street, Las Vegas, NM 87701.
We hope you are able to support my mom LouElla. Thank you so much!
