<div>Lotte hat das RETT-Syndrom, eine tiefgreifende Entwicklungsstörung, die schwere körperliche &amp; geistige Behinderung mit sich bringt. Sie ist 24 Stunden am Tag auf helfende Hände angewiesen, da sie weder sprechen noch laufen kann. Ihre Handfunktionen sind mit 18 Monaten verloren gegangen. Lotte versteht sehr viel, ist durch die fehlenden Funktionen aber wie gefangen in ihrem eigenen Körper.

<div>Aber trotz der Diagnose lässt sie sich auf ihrem Lebensweg nicht aufhalten. Gemeinsam mit uns, ihrer Familie und vielen Freunden geben wir das bestmögliche für ihre Förderung und Entwicklung. Dies gelingt uns durch verschiedene Arten von Therapien, denn jede Therapie ist wertvoll wie zum Beispiel eine Delfin-Therapie, die sie in ihrer Wahrnehmung und Entspannung unheimlich weiterbringt oder einer Wassertherapie bei SwimLab, die sie körperlich und geistig herausfordert. Ebenso wie eine DMI Therapie (intensiv-dynamische Physiotherapie), die sie körperlich sicherlich auch mal an ihre Grenzen bringt oder das Reiten, dass durch das Gangbild des Pferdes ihren Rumpf und ihre Rückenmuskulatur stärkt.

<div>Lotte ist dankbar und freut sich über jede einzelne dieser Therapien, die ihr ermöglicht werden. Denn all diese Therapien und noch viele mehr werden nicht durch die Krankenkassen gefördert und sind somit selbst zu finanzieren. Aber jede dieser Therapien macht das Leben ein kleines Stückchen leichter und besser.

<div>Lotte has RETT syndrome, a profound developmental disorder that causes severe physical &amp; mental disabilities. She depends on helping hands 24 hours daily as she can neither speak nor walk. Her hand functions were lost when she was 18 months old. Lotte understands a lot but is trapped in her body due to her lack of function.

<div>But despite the diagnosis, she will not be stopped on her journey through life. Together with us, her family, and many friends, we do everything we can to support and develop her. We achieve this through various types of therapy because every therapy is valuable, such as dolphin therapy, which helps her to improve her perception and relaxation, or water therapy at SwimLab, which challenges her physically and mentally. She also enjoys DMI therapy (intensive dynamic physiotherapy), which certainly pushes her to her physical limits, and horse riding, which strengthens her torso and back muscles through the horse's gait.

<div>Lotte is grateful and happy about every single one of these therapies made possible for her. Because all these therapies and many more are not funded by health insurance companies so she has to pay for them herself. But each of these therapies makes life a little bit easier and better.
