Lot's Filipino Food Restaurant Dining Experience

Geraldine (Lot) Shetler imigrated to the United States in 2007 when she married Jerry Shetler, and gained her US citizenship in 2012. In 2011, Lot started Lot's Filipino Food in 2011 by selling bread at the Mountain Home Farmer's Market. Bread sales expanded to a food truck 2015 that she used for the farmer's market and events through 2018. In 2018, as the old model food truck fell apart, they rented, remodeled, and moved into a building in town with a sit down restaurant, the only Filipino Restaurant in Idaho.

During the last five years, Lot's Filipino Food Restaurant & Bakery has suffered through the COVID restrictions as only Jerry and Lot work at the restaurant. It has been a struggle even though we are a destination restaurant for people outside of our little town. Out initial contract is now coming to an end in the building we rented and it is obvious that something needs to change in the operation of the restaurant.

Our inital rent contract is ending in a few months and we need to begin to invest in something that we own. Something that we help keep the overhead down. People are sad to see us close as we have been met with, "this is the best restaurant in town" after our announcement.

We would like to continue to provide food through catering and focus on a destination restaurant for dining experience on our property with a beautiful view of the Snake River. The land is owned and we have some of the equipment to make this work, but we need some capital to purchase the building to convert into a kitchen and more for the dining area we will build. The more money raised the quicker and more complete the facility will be and we will be able to keep a Filipino restaurant in Idaho.
