The Southern India region of Kerala has suffered one of the worst monsoons and flooding of the last hundred years. To date over 320 people have died and over 300,000 have been displaced as a result of the flooding and massive mudslides. While Indian authorities are doing the best they can to aid their citizens, the scale and scope of this disaster makes individual assistance challenging if not overwhelming.
While this is yet another natural disaster to monitor, it is personal for me and in particular our Cape Cod Parish Priest at Our Lady of the Cape in Brewster, Massachusetts- Father William Kaliyadan. Father William's sister lives in Kerala and has lost her entire home as result of this flooding. As you might expect, Father William has asked for prayers for his family and the entire region. I believe the answer to one of those prayers is the establishment of this Go Fund Me page to provide critical and necessary resources to Father William's sister as she begins the long and slow process of rebuilding her family's life and home.

A little about me and this campaign.
My name is John Dragoon and I am a seasonal resident of Cape Cod and parishioner of Our Lady of the Cape in Brewster, MA. The Parish Priest is Father William Kaliyadan who hails from India and has family in India. I first learned of the tragedy in India and the impact on Father William's sister and family shortly after the first floods happened. Father William later shared that his sister lost her home and most of her belongings in the flood. This money will be sent directly to her and her family so that they can secure critical items and begin the slow process of recovery and rebuilding. Upon completion of this campaign, the money will be given directly to Father William who will assure it gets directly to his sister. Thank you all for your thoughtful and generous support.
