Lost Both Vehicles in Flash Flood

On August 5th a flash flood sank the only two vehicles my sister and her husband owns. They have contacted the city numerous times about this flooding issue in the past and have been hung up on, neglected and given the run around. 

My sister and brother in law have a 5 year old son and now have no means of transportation. With COVID, work has slowed down for so many families, including theirs. Income is limited and they don’t have resources to take action. 

Their Landlord and the city of Augusta-Richmond County are both well aware of their flood issue as this is the 5th (or more) time their entire yard has flooded up to the porch steps. This time, however, the water is twice as high as normal and has flooded the only two vehicles they own. 

This is a DIRECT result of negligence Augusta-Richmond County. Although both parties had knowledge of unsafe living conditions during inclement weather, instead of taking action to ensure the safety of their citizens, Richmond County installed a new water runoff pipe (I guess??) that ran straight into this family’s yard from the highway.

I’m asking for everyone’s help. My sister feels completely helpless in this situation and I want her to know her and her family do NOT have to roll over to our negligent government! THIS COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED! This money will help repair their vehicles and cover possible legal fees.

Yes, we are contacting the respective insurance agencies. Help is still needed with deductibles and legal fees and possibly a rental car. Please consider helping my sister and her family if you can!
