Since losing my brother to suicide in 2021, my mother’s mental health has severely declined into paranoia and a break from reality. For years, I was told I couldn't get legal guardianship because she was still 'functional.' Now, she has run out of savings, is homeless in a van in Nevada, and is off her necessary medical prescriptions. Her phone service is days away from being cut off, and I am terrified of losing her forever. I am a 24-year-old working 12-hour shifts to build a life, but I need help to fund the emergency travel to get her to Tennessee and the legal fees for a conservatorship so I can finally keep her safe. I cannot lose another family member.

The funds will cover the emergency travel costs to get my mother from Nevada to Tennessee, including fuel and vehicle safety. They will also be used for the legal fees required to obtain a conservatorship so I can finally manage her medical care and housing. Additionally, the money will provide for her immediate needs—food, clothing, and restarting her essential medications—once she is safely in my care.

To anyone who chooses to donate or even just hit the share button: Please know that you are providing a lifeline I’ve been praying for. You aren’t just giving money; you are giving me the chance to bring back the woman who raised me—the mom I haven't truly seen smile since my brother’s passing six years ago. I am almost 25 years old, and I am the only person left who is fighting for her. I’ve spent years watching the system fail us, but now that she’s on the streets, I am her only way home. To be honest, I struggle immensely with asking for help, and asking for money is almost the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I’ve always tried to handle everything on my own, but I’ve realized I can’t save her by myself. By supporting this, you are helping me pull my mother out of the darkness and into the safety of my home in Tennessee. For giving me the strength to keep fighting when I was almost out of hope, I am more grateful than I could ever say....

Losing my brother was enough. I can’t lose my mother, too

Still $2,095 to go. Help us build momentum.
