Los Gallos has been a mainstay of the New Braunfels community for several decades. We are a family of over 20 people who have worked hard to cook the best Mexican cuisine in town and serve it up just right for you and your family! We plan to be around for the next generation.
However, like many other small businesses and restaurants, we are feeling the financial strain of the Coronavirus. We have had to shut down our dine-in operations as of March 20th. Once restaurants start to close there is little cushion for workers to fall back upon, as they often live paycheck to paycheck. For the 30 million small business owners, they too face potentially devastating financial challenges.
We have worked very hard to build a successful small business with a loyal customer base and a dedicated staff that is well connected and cohesive at Los Gallos. Every one of our staff members has been vitally important towards achieving the success of our little restaurant. They are our second family. Several of the wait staff have lost a significant amount of work days, due to the decline in sales, as well as a tremendous loss in the amount of tips they rely upon to make ends meet. Some have children to care for but now, they have no work.
This is why we are asking our customers and followers to show their support by lending a hand with this CRISIS pay for our employees. We hope to not only replenish their lost wages, but to build up an emergency fund for each and every staff member so that in the future, they may be better prepared to survive the next catastrophic event such as this one. Although we expect this tumultuous event to pass, it too has caused some financial setbacks on the operation of the restaurant. We have had to renegotiate our lease and our agreements with Sysco, our food vendor, for the next 10-20 days.
Please consider giving back during this time of mass financial hardship. We are all in this together. God will see us through on the other side!
