Dear Facebook friends and family,
We are embarking on another fundraising initiative, this time utilizing a different platform and with a clearer understanding of the intended use of the funds. As many of you are aware, my mother, Lory Eisenach, has been battling an illness that began as a cold and developed into a challenging infection resistant to antibiotics. She has been transferred between two hospitals and is currently receiving care at Saint Anthony’s in Lakewood. While we have made significant progress in her recovery, we are still facing challenges.
Yesterday, my mother underwent a surgical procedure aimed at reducing the bacterial infection in her lungs. Initially, the procedure appeared successful; however, we encountered a setback when the doctors attempted to remove her from the ventilator. She managed well for a few hours, but the medical team ultimately decided it was premature to keep her off the ventilator. She has since been reconnected to it until her lungs regain the strength necessary for independent breathing. We remain hopeful that she will overcome the infection, although we are still awaiting clarity on the reasons for the recent setback. During the brief time I spent with her, she was alert and engaged, and we shared in the joy of reading the supportive comments from all of you. At this moment, my mother requires ample rest to aid her recovery, and she is eager to return home.
In our discussions, we addressed her housing situation. Prior to her illness, she was employed full-time, but she currently has no source of income. The basement apartment she was living in will no longer be a viable option for her post-recovery. She will need a ground-level apartment for easier access, and a fresh start is essential. My mother and I discussed this fundraiser and she was fully aware and agreed that this was okay. Everything that’s donated will be used for a purpose that’s directly related to my mother's needs.
We thank everyone that had donated on the prior fundraiser and hope this one gets off to a better start. Let’s all keep praying, and sending positive thoughts. My mom is a strong woman and has come this far; she is eager and fighting this battle.
God Bless
