Help Lorraine Cushing's disease

Hello, my name is Lorraine Vigas Tamayo, I am 31 years old and live in Valencia, Venezuela. In 2016 I was diagnosed with Cushing's Disease (Hypercortisolism) and later a brain tumor located in the pituitary gland. I urgently need everyone's help to undergo specialized studies, Brain Radiosurgery with Gamma Knife and other medical treatments in the United States, which are currently not available in Venezuela.

My symptoms are: strong migraines, neurocardiogenic syncope, severe weight gain (over 40 kg), acne, hair loss, spinal complications, pain in joints and limbs, stretch marks, nausea and vomiting, insomnia, hormonal imbalances, depression, alterations in blood pressure, weakness, gastritis, uterine and gastric polyps. Due to all this, it is extremely difficult for me to lead a normal life.

Currently in Venezuela the health system is extremely deteriorated. The humanitarian and economic crisis that we Venezuelans are suffering has generated shortages and high costs of medicines, limitations on access to exams and studies due to lack of supplies, and even the migration of doctors specialized in my disease. These conditions make it practically impossible to have access to the treatments necessary to survive my illness.

I have exhausted my economic resources and those of my family; and because of my condition I cannot work, which makes it even more difficult for me to cover my medical expenses. For this reason, this Gofundme campaign was created with the help of my great friend Stefano Raffa, so that I could receive donations from anywhere in the world and be able to finance my medical expenses. Stefano lives in Switzerland and was the only person willing to help me with the administration of the site since Gofundme is not available for Venezuela, and I am not allowed to affiliate my account with the Bank of America because I do not have social security number from the United States. By making a donation through this page, the bank statement will reflect his name, Stefano Raffa, since he does meet the requirements demanded by Gofundme and Stripe, and I do not. For the same reason, the currency reflected on the page is Swiss francs (CHF), because by registering the Gofundme account and providing Stefano's social security and address data, the page automatically assigns that currency. However, donations are received in any foreign currency and all your donations except Gofundme commissions (Switzerland: 7.9%+0.30 CH for each donation), are deposited by Stefano, to my US bank account.

Thanks to the help of many people, I was able to travel to the United States in February of this year, 2018. I was able to attend medical consultations with Endocrinologists and Neurosurgeons, I underwent examinations and studies (they indicated repeating those I had done in Venezuela, and making new ones not available in my country), but due to the lack of economic resources to finance medical expenses and expenses related to my stay, I was forced to return to Venezuela without getting proper treatment. On the other hand, I do not have medical insurance in Venezuela or with international coverage, so all medical expenses inside and outside the country have been paid by me, which has been possible thanks to the constant help I have received through your donations.

With your contribution I will be able to cover the expenses of: specialized laboratory studies and imaging, medical consultations, medicines and medical treatments both in Venezuela and in the United States. Additionally, travel, lodging, food and transportation expenses must be covered in the United States. Gamma Knife Radiosurgery alone has a cost for uninsured foreign patients of $19,725.

Necesito urgentemente de la ayuda de todos para realizarme estudios especializados, Radiocirugía Cerebral con Gamma Knife y otros tratamientos médicos en Estados Unidos; los cuales actualmente no están disponibles en Venezuela.

Mis síntomas son: fuertes migrañas, sincopes neurocardiogenicos, aumento de peso severo (más de 40 kg), acné, caída del cabello, complicaciones de la columna vertebral, dolor en las articulaciones y extremidades, estrías, náuseas y vómitos, insomnio, desequilibrios hormonales, depresión, alteraciones de la tensión arterial, debilidad, gastritis, pólipos uterinos y gástricos. Debido a todo esto, me resulta extremadamente difícil llevar una vida normal.

Actualmente en Venezuela el sistema de salud está sumamente deteriorado. La crisis humanitaria y económica que estamos sufriendo los venezolanos ha generado escasez y altos costos de los medicamentos, limitaciones al acceso de exámenes y estudios por falta de insumos, y hasta la pérdida de médicos especialistas en mi enfermedad. Estas condiciones hacen prácticamente imposible tener acceso a los tratamientos necesarios para sobrevivir mi enfermedad.

He agotado mis recursos económicos y los de mi familia; y por mi condición no puedo trabajar, lo que me dificulta aún más cubrir mis gastos médicos. Por esta razón se creó esta campaña de Gofundme con la ayuda de mi gran amigo Stefano Raffa, para yo poder recibir donaciones de cualquier parte del mundo y lograr financiar mis gastos médicos. Stefano vive en Suiza y fue la única persona dispuesta a ayudarme con la administración de la página ya que Gofundme no se encuentra disponible para Venezuela, y no se me permite afiliar mi cuenta en Bank of América por no tener seguro social de Estados Unidos. Gracias a la ayuda de muchas personas, logré viajar a Estados Unidos en febrero de este año, 2018. Pude asistir a consultas médicas con Endocrinos y Neurocirujanos, me realicé exámenes y estudios (indicaron repetir los que me había realizado en Venezuela, y realizar otros nuevos no disponibles en mi país); pero debido a falta de recursos económicos para financiar los gastos médicos y gastos relacionados a mi estadía, me vi en la obligación de regresar a Venezuela sin lograr recibir tratamiento. Por otra parte no tengo seguro médico en Venezuela ni con cobertura internacional, así que todos los gastos médicos dentro y fuera del país han corrido por mi cuenta, lo cual ha sido posible gracias a la ayuda constante que he recibido a través de sus donaciones.

Con tu aporte lograré cubrir los gastos de: estudios especializados de laboratorio e imágenes, consultas médicas, medicinas y tratamientos médicos tanto en Venezuela como en Estados Unidos.
