Lorinda’s Medical Journey

I’m Amanda and I am the younger sister of Lorinda who was recently involved in a very serious car accident on the 29th of December. She was hit directly on her side where she was the driver. She was airlifted to Parkview Regional hospital in Fort Wayne where she was directly taken back to fix the internal bleeding on her spleen. Once the bleeding was stopped she was taken to the ICU to await the surgeries to fix her broken pelvis and broken left leg. The next day, December 30th, she was taken back for both the surgeries at the same time. The surgeries went well and I was able to speak with the surgeon where he explained that he put her pelvis back together with two screws and then repaired her leg with a rod. They did take her back to the ICU to watch her blood pressure and heart as they were still at risk and the doctors were unsure if they would need surgery or not. Thankfully, they didn’t have to operate on her heart but it’s something they’re keeping a close eye on still. Today, January 1st, she was moved out of the ICU and taken to a regular room to continue the healing process and start breathing exercises and therapy for her pelvis and leg. It’s been a long journey so far and I know we just have barley started.
It doesn’t look like her insurance is even going to make much of a dent in the costs of her medical stay, surgeries, rehab, and what ever else her distant future is going to bring. She, herself, had recently just got out of debt and was so very proud of herself! I don’t want her to worry about all these medical costs because stress is so bad for her recovery. I want her to focus on herself and her healing, so thank you so very much if you decide to fund her and her recovery! It means to world to the both of us ❤️

My sweet sister, Lorinda, has always looked after me as we grew up and kindly stepped up to the plate after our dear mother passed. So, now it’s my turn to look after her and be here for her no matter what and through whatever the future may bring.
