Love For Lori

In August of 2000, a wonderful person entered my life.  She was the mother of one of my kindergarten students, but quickly became a treasured friend.  Three years later, she became my classroom assistant and right hand "woman".  She is now like family.  I can't even imagine life without her!  

In September of 2017, Lori Kurek was diagnosed with two types of breast cancer.  Her world changed forever.  She has had to undergo several surgeries and is receiving the most aggressive chemo to treat her illness at Moffitt Cancer Center.  After her second round of chemo, she was shocked to receive the news that she also had cervical cancer.  She had to endure yet another surgery.  

Through it all, her attitude has remained positive and she has been determined to come to work and continue to serve our students each day.  She leaves exhausted, but has a smile on her face.

Lori has two "angel" daughters in her life that she is fighting this fight for and with.  Their names are Kathryn, age 23 and Taylor, age 18.  They are both extremely young to have to face this with their mom, and although they are both full time students, they are there for her whenever she needs them.
