Lori Layl

Many of you have been blessed to know and work with Lori Layl, whether it was during her 17 years at Women’s Enterprise magazine or her 2 years at Vistra Energy. She is a loyal and true friend, employee, mother, sister and daughter as well as an inspiration to all who know her.  Her always positive personality and effervescent voice continue to advocate for diverse businesses.

What you may not know, is that she has been heroically fighting squamous cell carcinoma (cancer) since March of 2015.  After going through 2 rounds of Chemo Therapy, enduring all the radiation her body could take and three surgeries, it appeared she was almost healed.  However, additional tumors have now surfaced and she has also developed a squamous cell carcinoma on the back of her left leg.

Her medical bills continue to mount while her earning potential continues to diminish.  She has been on short term disability and will need to go on long term disability soon.  As a single mom with 2 grown children, 1 living in Florida and the other in South Dakota, she does not have a second income to supplement her finances.
