Lori Estelle Tanner

My daughter, Lori Estelle Tanner was murdered in Lake Charles, LA on August 1, 2018.  She was a victim of domestic violence. 

I am her next of kin, and will be in charge of her final expenses.

Lori meant the world to me.  She was smart and faced life unashamedly and with purpose. We talked often and shared the kind of bond only a father and daughter can share.

Nothing was more important to Lori than her love of family and God. She loved her children with a depth and passion that was amazing.   

She loved horses and trail rides. She loved the ocean and all its creatures. She loved children and anything on Earth that had fur or feathers.  She had a heart as big as all outdoors, her smile could light up a room and she would gladly give anyone her last dime if it would help them.

Lori was divorced and passed without any life insurance.  My retirement savings were wiped out in the financial disaster in 2008 and I am on a fixed income.

I tried victim's assistance and a couple of charities, but it seems that because I am working and I'm not in danger of losing my home I don't qualify for assistance.

I spread out the costs for her funeral amongst several credit cards, but the payments are going to be a struggle to meet. 

I'm also told that I will have legal costs if I want to nail the person that killed her.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
