Looking for Lightning
In an effort to benefit others with MS and other neurological or mobility challenges and honor the legendary BKS Iyengar, I plan to perform, Looking For Lightning, my solo show about my journey w MS and Iyengar Yoga at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
To realize this endeavor requires funding.
Taking the show to the Edinburgh Fringe carries the intention of spreading awareness and offering realistic hope for those living with Multiple Sclerosis or whatever challenges life may present. A portion of net profits from the run of the show will be donated to clinical research to help find a cure for MS.
Looking for Lightning reaches well beyond those living with MS and reflects the universal truth of the human condition and will to overcome the challenges of life.
The show was initially born out of a writing exercise on the terror attacks of 9/11. With the uncertainty and constant threat of terror and other attacks facing our world today, I am reminded that none of us are immune to the fear and uncertainty.
In this centenary year celebrating 100 years since the birth of yoga master BKS Iyengar, the intention is to also honor his contribution to humanity by having a presence at the largest live arts festival in the world.
