Looking at life in prison because I was there.

Being homeless can put you in some difficult situations. I was in a hotel room with 2 people who did heinous things to each other. The police arrived and sorted it all out and eventually let us go. Later, I was arrested. I found the charges against one of them included my name but, even in the statements and in the recordings entered as evidence, it was  explained that I never touched anyone. When they handed out charges however, they gave me the same charges as one of the people who committed the acts- including a felony. At my hearing, my defender (whom I had just met), said nothing. The statement was presented as if I was the one who actually committed these acts. It says on that document that I never touched anybody but they presented the crimes as if I was responsible. The whole thing was surreal with the video situation due to the Covid-19 Crisis. I have been told I need a lawyer to ensure the  evidence is presented properly as I am facing Life in prison. I found a firm who feels confident in my case and will take it for $5000. But, it is $5000 I do not have. I am terrified at the thought of what might happen without adequate legal help. I am 31 and have been trying. I had a job and had gotten a place to live when I was arrested.  Now I am still sitting in Jail waiting. I am grateful for your consideration. Any help is so deeply appreciated. Thank you!
